Remedy for the destructive harm of a magic spell Fatwa No: 20791
- Fatwa Date:10-10-2010
Recently, members of my family have become embroiled in disputes and strange incidents that have resulted in breakup of sorts. I suspect that one of them is affected by a magic spell. How can I know whether one of my family is under a spell? How can he be treated?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
Magic spells can be treated by frequently reciting the Quran and constantly reciting the Athkaar (mentionings and remembrances) that were prescribed by the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, such as the morning and evening Athkaar. These things treat the symptoms of spells and protect against the evil they bring. Other effective ways are seeking refuge with Allaah The Almighty and imploring Him The Almighty for protection or cure.
At the same time, it is very important to obey the commands of the Sharee‘ah and avoid any acts of disobedience.
This is our advice to the questioner and other members of his family. If their family relations return to normal then thank Allaah The Almighty for this. Otherwise, it is permissible to seek the help of someone who can treat the person in question using the Sharee'ah-approved Ruqyah (treatment via Islamic incantations).
And Allaah Knows best.
