Question

Is there any text in the holy Quran that mentions the Anti-Christ?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alyhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

There is no verse or Chapter in the Quran that refers to the appearance of the Anti-Christ. However, we should believe in this because there are many Prophetic Hadeeths (narrations) that refer to his appearance: the appearance of the Anti-Christ was mentioned as one of the ten signs of the Hour in a large number of Prophetic Hadeeths. They are Saheeh (authentic) Hadeeths narrated in Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Muslim and other books of Hadeeth, which leaves no room for doubt that his appearance is a fact. A Muslim must believe in the authentic Sunnah (Prophetic tradition) as much as he believes in the Quran,  because the Sunnah is a clarification of the Quran and it is the words of the infallible Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):

{Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. It is not but a revelation revealed} [Quran 53:3,4]

One of the Hadeeths that were narrated about the Anti-Christ is the one in which the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, told us that all the prophets, may Allaah exalt their mention, warned their people of the Anti-Christ, who would be one-eyed and a liar. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, added that our Lord is not one-eyed, and that the word “Kaafir” (disbeliever) will be written between the Anti-Christ’s eyes. [Al-Bukhari].

Allaah Knows best.
