How a non-Muslims gets retribution from Muslim oppressors in the Hereafter Fatwa No: 287968
- Fatwa Date:19-3-2015
I have a query about this hadith: "The Prophet , said in a Qudsi (Sacred) Hadeeth: "Allaah will say on the Day of Judgment, 'I am the King. I am the Judge. It is not for any one of the people of the Fire to enter the Fire when someone from the people of Paradise has a right that belongs to him until I avenge him, and it is not for any one of the people of Paradise to enter Paradise when he has a right that belongs to someone from the people of the Fire until I avenge him, even a slap." People asked, "How will that be, when we will be resurrected before Allaah naked, uncircumcised and having nothing with us?" He , said: "With good and bad deeds." [Ahmad - Al-Albaani graded it Hasan (good)]."If this hadith refers to non-Muslims receiving recompense from Muslims by receiving good deeds from the account of the Muslim that wronged them, then how is this recompense suitable and useful for the non-Muslim on the day of judgment, considering that no amount of good deeds will save the non-Muslim from everlasting hell?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
We previously referred you to Fataawa 281386, 284845 and 187481 underlining that non-Muslims who are wronged by Muslims are given the chance to get retribution from their Muslim oppressors on the Day of Judgment. This is an aspect of the perfect justice of Allaah The Exalted. No one will be wronged in any way, Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
However, the manner by which non-Muslims get retribution from Muslims who have wronged them is only known to Allaah The Exalted. It is possible that the non-Muslims' punishment is lightened in proportion to the rewards of good deeds that He removes from their Muslim oppressors as retaliation.
Allaah Knows best.
