When ‘Eesa (Jesus), may Allaah exalt his mention, descends at the end of time and meets the Anti-Christ, will there be technology, either military or another kind ?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Many Hadeeths state that at the end of time people will ride on horses and fight with swords and spears. One of these Hadeeths states that ‘Eesaa will kill the Anti-Christ with a spear. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

However, it is not known whether these Hadeeths indicate a literal meaning and that today’s technology will come to an end at some point before the descent of ‘Eesaa or that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam , was merely explaining these events in a language that his listeners could understand, where horses could refer to the means of transport and swords and spears could indicate the machinery of war. Scholars have two opinions on this topic because the issue is very complex, but the matter can only really be interpreted when it actually takes place.
