What should an envied person do to cure himself from the effects of the envy?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

First, you should supplicate to Allaah The Almighty and resort to Him by reading the Athkaar (mentionings and remembrances) and invocations that the Prophet, sallaallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam , taught us. There are certain invocations that should be said in the morning and the evening. This is the best protection against envy, madness caused by the evil touch of Jinn, and the evil eye. These invocations are printed in the form of small booklets that are sold at low prices in bookstores and they are very beneficial indeed. There are other booklets with different names that include these invocations.

Envy can further be treated by regularly reciting certain chapters and verses of the Quran, and this is also very beneficial. These chapters are: Al-Faatihah [Chapter 1], the verse of Al-Kursi (the Chair) [2:255], the last two verses of Chapter Al-Baqarah [2:285,286], Chapter Al-Ikhlaas [Chapter 112] and Chapters Al-Falaq and An-Naas [Chapters 113 and 114].

Another method of treatment is to go to someone who makes Islamic Ruqyah (Quranic treatment).

If the person who has an evil eye is known, he should be asked to wash his face, hands, elbows, knees, feet and his lower abdomen in a pot of water, then this water should be poured over the person who was affected by the evil eye so he can wash with it.

You should have a strong heart and never surrender to such obsessions and use the treatment we have mentioned while firmly believing that they are means that benefit by the will of Allaah The Almighty.

Purify your home from all kinds of sins, as they invite devils and drive away angels, thus depriving the household of the protection and care of Allaah The Almighty. If these sins are present its people fall prey to the deception of devils. This is one of the main causes of affliction that most people are heedless of. We ask Allaah The Almighty to grant us all safety and well-being.
