Who were all the Siddeeqs of history? Were ‘Aa’ishah and the other wives of the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, Siddeeqs? And how about Fatimah, ‘Umar , ‘Uthman, and ‘Ali? And what about others from previous nations? And is there anything better than a Siddeeq besides a Prophet?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Siddeeqiyyah (affirming the truth) is a very high rank, and it comes after the rank of Prophethood; as Allah says (what means): {And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the Prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.} [Quran 4:69]

Ibn Al-Qayyim said in Miftaah Daar As-Sa’aadah, “The highest of these ranks are the Prophets and the Messengers, followed by the Siddeeqs, who are the Imaams of the followers of Messengers, and their rank is the highest rank after that of Prophethood.”

The previous verse indicates that it can be reached by many people. Hence, we cannot enumerate those who could have been described as Siddeeqs.

Ibn Taymiyyah said in Minhaaj As-Sunnah:

“It is proven in the Saheeh (sound) ahaadeeth that the Prophet described Abu Bakr as a Siddeeq, and ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ood narrated that the Prophet said, 'You should always tell the truth, for the truth leads to piety, and piety leads to Paradise. A man tells the truth and persists in speaking the truth till he is written with Allah as a Siddeeq. And beware of lying, for lying leads to vice (wickedness, evil-doing), and vice leads to Hellfire, and a man persists in telling lies till he is written with Allah as a liar.' [Al-Bukhaari and Muslim]

Also, Allah said about Maryam (Mary), the daughter of ‘Imraan, that she was a Siddeeqah (the feminine form of Siddeeq), and she was a woman.

The Prophet said that 'many amongst men attained perfection but that none amongst women attained perfection except four'; so the Siddeeqs from among men are many.”

Among this nation, Abu Bakr was described to be a Siddeeq on the tongue of the Prophet as stated in the authentic Sunnah. This is a virtue for him, but this does not mean that this is peculiar to him. Al-Aloosi said in his Tafseer (interpretation of the Quran), “The one who is well-known with this description among the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, was Abu Bakr but this is not peculiar to him.”

Whenever Masrooq reported from ‘Aa’ishah he would say, “The one who was declared innocent, the Siddeeqah, the daughter of the Siddeeq (i.e. the daughter of Abu Bakr), the beloved one of Allah's beloved, told me such-and-such.”

All those whom you mentioned in the question can be included in the Siddeeqs. They are the most fortunate of people with those acts which make a Muslim be included in this description; we mean being obedient to Allah and His Messenger and persisting in speaking the truth, and so forth.
