Clothing in Paradise does not negate occurrence of intercourse

Question

Assalaamu alaykum. I was just wondering; does verse 20:118 mean that there will be no intercourse in heaven? It says that we will never be naked.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

Allah, The Exalted, says (what means): {Indeed, it is (promised) for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed. And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun} [Quran 20:118-119]

Ibn ‘Atiyyah said, “The meaning is: For you, O Aadam (Adam), are perfect blessings and continuous bounties (in Paradise); that you do not suffer hunger, nakedness, thirst, or sun heat that harms you.

Al-Qurtubi said, “Allah, The Exalted, informs Aadam that he shall be granted all these blessings in Paradise: clothing, food, drink, and accommodation.

The existence of clothing and the enjoyment of the different kinds of fine clothes in Paradise does not negate the occurrence of sexual intercourse therein. Sexual intercourse in Paradise is a matter authentically established by religious evidence. Ibn Al-Qayyim said, “The Prophet, sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was asked, ‘Will we have sexual intercourse in Paradise?’ He answered, ‘Yes, by the One in Whose Hand my soul is!  Intercourse will be done dahman, dahman (i.e. with such shove and disturbance) and when it is finished, she will return pure and virgin again.’” The reporters of this hadeeth meet the conditions of Saheeh Ibn Hibban. Allah knows best.
