Number of Servants For Every Inhabitant in Paradise Fatwa No: 392041
- Fatwa Date:14-2-2019
Assalam aalekum I have read in a book that the person who will enter the jannah will get 10 thousand servents is this Hadith authentic
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Several Ahaadeeth were mentioned about the number of servants that every person from the people of Paradise will have. Some of these Ahaadeeth state that their number to be ten thousand.
Anas ibn Maalik said: “I heard the Prophet saying: “The least of all the inhabitants of Paradise will be one whom ten thousand servants will be at his service and call. Each servant will have two platters in his hand: one of silver and the other of gold. Every platter will have a color that the other does not have. He will eat from the last platter just as he ate from the first platter. The delicious taste that he will enjoy from the last platter will be completely different from what he enjoyed from the first platter. It will then come out (of the body) as perspiration of musk, and a burp of musk. They will neither urinate, defecate nor blow their noses. They will be brothers on thrones facing each other.”
This Hadeeth was reported by At-Tabaraani and others and Al-Albaani classified it as weak in As-Silsilah Adh-Dha’eefah (No. 5305).
We have not come across any authentic Hadeeth that specifies this number; however, Al-Bayhaqi reported in his book “Al-Ba’th wan-Nushoor” a that ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Amr said:
“The least of all the inhabitants of Paradise will be one whom a thousand servants will be at his service and call. Each servant will have a task that is different from the other.” Then, he recited this verse (which means): {When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls.} [Quran 76:19]
Despite the fact that this narration is a Mawqoof Hadeeth (a statement of a companion), yet it takes the ruling of a Marfoo’ Hadeeth (a narration that is directly attributed to the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) as stated by Al-Hafith Al-'Iraqi in his book Takhreej Al-Ihyaa’. This is because there is no room for opinion about it (since it talks about an unseen matter), and Al-Albaani classified it as authentic in Saheeh At-Targheeb wat-Tarheeb (no 3705), then he said that it was also reported by Al-Hussayn Al-Maroozi and Ibn Jareer At-Tabari with an authentic chain of narrators from Ibn ‘Amru as a Mawqoof narration.
