Is it compulsory for women to go for Friday prayers?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

A woman is not obliged to be present for the Jumu'ah (Friday) prayer. There is no disagreement among the jurists over this issue.

However, if she prays the Jumu'ah, her prayer is valid and she does not have to pray the Thuhr prayer then.
