Companions for the believing men and women in Paradise Fatwa No: 82080
- Fatwa Date:5-12-1999
I want to know if there is enjoyment women would get equal to the men in their enjoyment of Hoor Al Ayn? Is there any thing similar to Hoor Al Ayn for women in paradise?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Allaah has made for His believing servants - men and women alike - Paradise. He Says (what means): {But give glad tidings to those who believe and work righteousness, that their portion is gardens beneath which rivers flow.}[Quran 2:25]
He has prepared for them everlasting comfort and happiness along with a continuous pleasure that does not cease; He Says (what means): {There are all that the souls could desire, all that the eyes could delight in and you shall abide therein (forever).}[Quran 43:71]
Allaah also Says (what means): {Now, no person knows what delight of the eyes are kept hidden in reserve for them as a reward for their (good) deeds.}[Quran 32:16]
So anyone who does righteous deeds – whether male or female - and who is a believer will be rewarded with Paradise. Allaah Says (what means): {Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith, indeed to him will we give a life that is good and pure, and we will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.}[Quran 16:96] He will be given a good life during this life and a fine reward in Hereafter, among the comforts of which will be the beautiful women of Paradise; Allaah Says (what means): {And there will be companions with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. Like unto pearls well-guarded.}[Quran 56:22] This comfort is for men only. As for the women, they will be the wives for their husbands that they had in this life. If a woman had more than one husband in this life then she in the Hereafter will either stay with the one who had the best behavior or with the last one she got married to. It is stated in a sound Hadeeth that Mu'awiyyah proposed marriage to Umm Ad-Dardaa' . She responded by saying, “I heard Prophet Muhammad , saying: “The woman is (in Paradise) for her last husband (in this world),' and I do not want anybody more than Abu-Ad-Dardaa.'”
As for the women who never married in this life, Allaah will give them husbands or let them choose among the men in Paradise who died before getting married or whose wives didn’t enter Paradise with them because they died unbelievers or deserved to be punished for a period of time prior to their entry.
Allaah Knows best.
