Islam and realism

Question

What is the outlook of Islam in realism?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

This theory is philosophical, and it is based on myths.  It is not permissible to believe in it or accept it as a fact.  We advise the brother asking the question to stay away from studying these philosophical theories except if he is Islamicly qualified to do so, and if the purpose is to reveal that these theories are erroneous and based upon falsehood so that the Muslims will not be afflicted by it.  In addition, one has to be very careful and to hold strongly to the rope of Allah.  Philosophy often misleads people and causes misunderstandings and misconceptions.

Ibn Al-Arabi said about his Sheikh Abu Hamad Al-Ghazali: ‘Our Sheikh swallowed Philosophy then wanted to vomit it but he could not.’  So, if Philosophy has left a bad effect on a person like Al-Ghazali, who is a person of intelligence, and abundant Islamic jurisprudence knowledge, then what about the people of lesser degree (of intelligence, knowledge and wisdom).

We seek the help of Allah Alone.

Allah knows best.
