It is permissible for a man, on whom magic is done, to complain Fatwa No: 91716
- Fatwa Date:1-4-2006
Am I sinful for saying that I suffer from magic? There are people who wrote this piece of paper on me, taking into account that all the symptoms of a person who suffers from magic are apparent on me.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
If you really suffer from magic, then there is no harm on you to say that you suffer from magic, especially if you say this to a person whom you expect to benefit from, by undoing magic by Ruqyah and legislated supplications. Nonetheless, if you do not suffer from magic, it is not permissible for you to say that, as this will be a lie. Furthermore, it is not permissible for you to say that a specific person has done magic to you without evidence as in principle a Muslim is innocent until proven guilty. Accusing someone without evidence or clear poof is a great major sin. Allaah Says (what means): {And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned [i.e. deserved] have certainly born upon themselves a slander and manifest sin.}[Quran 33:58].
Allaah Knows best.
