A man taking pictures with women Fatwa No: 92442
- Fatwa Date:17-9-2006
tell me about taking picture with female
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Taking pictures is forbidden except for a necessity because there are many Prophetic narrations which prohibit it. For instance, the Prophet said: "Angels do not enter a house where there is a picture or a dog." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. The Prophet also said: "Image-makers will be in Hellfire, for every image they made, Allaah will create a soul that will keep on punishing them in Hellfire." [Muslim]. Moreover, it is reported that 'Ali said to Abu Al-Hayyaaj Al-Asadi : "Shall I not send you with what the Prophet sent me with, that you do not leave an erected grave except that you level it, and a picture except that you demolish it."
There is many other evidences that prove the prohibition of taking pictures, and this applies to photographic pictures and other kinds of pictures according to the preponderant opinion of the scholars . For more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 83249 and 87005.
The matter is even more serious and more forbidden if taking pictures involves another prohibition, like a man taking pictures with marriageable women. Even if one is willing to take pictures with his female Mahaarim (i.e. plural of Mahram, who is a spouse or a person whom one is permanently prohibited from marrying due to suckling, marital, or blood relations), it is not safe that these pictures will not fall in the hands of marriageable men, so everyone is required to fear Allaah and stay away from anything which Allaah is not pleased with.
Allaah knows best.
