Huwaytib ibn Abi Al-Uzza Al-Qurashi Al‘Aamiri, may Allah be pleased with him:
He came to Islam immediately after the conquest of Makkah, and he is also from those whom the Prophet, endeared their hearts to Islam. He accepted Islam at the age of sixty years, and he was given one hundred camels from the booty of Hunayn. ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, charged him to renew the obelisks of the borders of Al-Haram (the holy sanctuary in Makkah). He was among the people who buried ‘Uthmaan, may Allah be pleased with him, at night. He bought a house in Madeenah with forty thousands dinars. He was nicknamed Abu Muhammad or Abu Al-Isba‘.
When he was a disbeliever, he witnessed Badr and said, "When I saw angels killing and capturing us, I knew that these people are protected". He also witnessed the Treaty of Al-Hudaybiyah with Suhayl ibn ‘Amr, from the side of the disbelievers. When he accepted Islam, he witnessed with the Prophet, Hunayn and At-Taa'If. The Prophet, asked him for a loan of forty thousands Dirhams and he agreed. He died in Madeenah at the end of the reign of Mu‘aawiyah, may Allah be pleased with him. It is said that he died in the year fifty-four A.H. at the age of one hundred and twenty, or in fifty-two A.H.
Al-Husayn ibn Numayr, may Allah be pleased with him:
It is said that he, and Al-Mugheerah ibn Shu‘bah recorded the dealings and the debts.
Huthayfah ibn Al-Yamaan, may Allah be pleased with him:
He is Huthayfah ibn Hisl Abu ‘Abdullaah Al-‘Absi, and Al-Yamaan is the nickname of Hisl ibn Jaabir. He was a great supporter of the Prophet, . He witnessed Uhud, in which his father died. He did not witness Badr as the disbelievers imposed a commitment on him that he should not fight. On this occasion, he asked the Prophet, whether he should fight or not, and the Prophet, , said to him: "We keep our promise, and ask Allah to help us in defeating them." He witnessed the Battle of Nahawand, and he conquered Hamthaan, Ar-Rayy and and Ad-Danboor. He also witnessed the conquest of Al-Jazerah, and he came to Naseebayn and married from there. He is the one whom the Prophet, , entrusted with the names of the hypocrites. He died in Al-Madaa'in, in thirty-six A.H. forty nights after the death of ‘Uthmaan, may Allah be pleased with him.
Khaalid ibn Zayd, may Allah be pleased with him:
He is Khaalid ibn Zayd ibn Kulayb ibn Tha‘labah Abd Amr ibn Aw fibn Ghanam ibn Maalik ibn An-Najjaar ibn Tha‘labah ibn Al-Khazraj. He is Abu Ayyoob Al-Ansaari whom the Prophet, favored with staying at his house until the room of Sawdah, the Mother of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with her, was built. He witnessed Al-‘Aqabah, Badr and the other battles with the Prophet . The Prophet, , paired him and Mus‘ab ibn ‘Umayr, may Allah be pleased with them, as brothers. He died in the year fifty, fifty-one or fifty-two A.H. He was in the army of Yazeed ibn Mu‘aawiyah which conquered Constantinople, and he was buried its wall.
Khaalid ibn Sa‘eed ibn Al‘aas ibn Umayyah, may Allah be pleased with him:
He is Abu Sa‘eed Al-Qurashi Al-Umawi. It is narrated that he was the first one who wrote Bismillaahir-rahmaanir-raheem, (In the name of Allah, the entirely Merciful, the especially Merciful). It is also said that he accepted Islam immediately after Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, by which he was one third of Islam. He came to Islam after he had a dream that indicated the mission of the Prophet, . He undertook the second Hijrah to Al-Habashah (Ethiopia) and stayed there for approximately thirteen years. He returned from Al-Habashah with Ja‘far ibn Abi Taalib, may Allah be pleased with him, to the Prophet, , in Khaybar, and witnessed with him the Compensatory ‘Umrah, and the conquests of Makkah, Hunayn, At-Taa'if, and Tabook.
Moreover, the Prophet, , sent him to collect the obligatory charity from the people of Yemen, and it is said that he was dispatched to the people of Mithahj and San'a the Prophet, , died while he was still there. His death is a controversial issue; it is said that Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, charged him with leading an army to fight in Ash-Shaam and he died in Marj Al-‘Ussaar. It is also said that he died in the year fourteen A.H. at the beginning of the caliphate of ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, and others said that his death was in the Battle of Ajnaadeen, twenty-four nights before the death of Abu Bakr.
