Question
Is it permissible to recite the "Du'a Kanjul Arsh"? (La ilah illa Allaahu subhana malikul quddoos) etc. This is very common in India and Pakistan.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Unfortunately, you did not state to us this mention or supplication in its complete form, in your question, so that we may give an appropriate ruling whether or not it is permissible. Thus, we cannot give a ruling on something that we do not completely understand and it is not enough to mention just a part of it, or to mention its beginning, in order for us to know the ruling as it might contain [in what is not mentioned] innovations or words of disbelief.
The mention that the Sufis say are not all the same, some of it contains disbelief and associating partners to Allaah, and some of it are talisman, and some other corresponds to an authentic mention of Allaah or an authentic supplication.
Finally, the following two matters should be noted:
1) Restricting oneself to a particular kind of mention of Allaah or restricting oneself to a specific number is something that is not legislated in religion. Rather, doing so is an innovation as the Prophet 
said: "Whoever introduces into this faith of ours that whic.h is not a part of it, it will be rejected." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] Another narration reads: "Whoever performs an act that is not in accordance with ours (concerning religion), it will be rejected." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
2) The legislated mention of Allaah that are mentioned in the Book of Allaah or the Sunnah of the Prophet whether they are general or restricted to a particular time, like the mentions that are said in the mornings and evenings, the mention during obligatory prayers or after performing obligatory prayers and other mention, are enough for us from having to resort to an innovated mention of Allaah, or restricting some legislated mention to a particular time or saying it a restricted number of times, that the Islamic legislation has not restricted.
