The 8th day of Thul-Hijjah

The 8th day of Thul-Hijjah

On the 8th day of Thul-Hijjah, the pilgrim should put on his Ihraam and head for Makkah. Upon reaching the Ka'bah, he/she makes Tawaaf (circumambulating the Ka'bah seven times) and Sa'y (seven circuits between As-Safa and Al-Marwah). Then he heads for Mina where he spends the whole day and night involved in Du'aa' (supplication), Thikr (remembering Allah) etc, and preparing himself to set out to ‘Arafah. He prays Thuhr (noon) and 'Asr (afternoon) prayers shortened to two Rak'ahs (units of prayer) each, Maghrib (sunset) three Rak'ahs and 'Ishaa' shortened to two.
