Israeli forces have opened fire along the Syrian frontier to disperse a large crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators.
At least two were killed and several protesters appear to have been wounded, Syrian state TV said.
The crowd had approached the border on Sunday, a day observed as "Naksa (setback) day", marking the Arab defeat in the 1967 Mideast war.
Israel has vowed to prevent a repeat of a similar demonstration last month, in which hundreds of people burst across the border and more than a dozen people were killed in the unrest.
Several shots were heard on Sunday. Demonstrators were seen taking away several wounded people. Some returned, while others continued to approach the border.
