Two Palestinians Killed by Israeli Fire

Two Palestinians have been killed by Israeli military fire in separate incidents.

A Palestinian teenager was killed on Tuesday in a clash with Israeli forces during a raid in the West Bank, and a farmer in the Gaza Strip was killed by Israeli tank fire, Palestinian hospital officials said.

The teenager was shot in the head on Tuesday when Israeli forces opened fire at a group of stone-throwing boys, said Aljazeera's correspondent in Nablus, in the northern West Bank.

Three Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gunfire during the raid, Palestinian paramedics and security sources told Reuters.

The Israeli army declined to comment, but a spokeswoman said she was checking the report.

Military sources said two Israeli soldiers were slightly wounded from an explosive device thrown by Palestinians during the raid, apparently to seize wanted fighters. They said gunmen opened fire several times at the troops.

Gaza farmer

Israeli troops in a tank shot and killed a Palestinian farmer in his field on Tuesday, Palestinian hospital officials said.

Mohammed Fara, 45, of the village of Abbasam near the Israeli border, was farming when a tank fired and killed him, the officials said.

The army declined to comment.

Witnesses said tanks patrolling the Israel-Gaza border fired sporadically throughout the night and morning because heavy fog prevented soldiers from being able to decipher whether Palestinians were trying to infiltrate Israel.
