Protest in Athens over Secret Abduction Claims

A protest has taken place in Athens over allegations that Pakistanis were abducted by Greek and British security officials after the bomb attacks in London last July. The claims have been denied by Greece and Britain.

The protesters were made up of members of an anti-war group and the Pakistani community. "We will continue until we receive justice," said Pakastini community leader Javed Aslam. "I believe in courts and democracy where we live. It is a good country but we don't want to see them performing illegal acts."

A group of 28 Pakistanis have filed a lawsuit claiming they were kidnapped, tortured and interrogated in secret locations about the London bombings. The protesters are calling for the resignation of the Greek Public Order minister. He maintains police did nothing wrong when they acted on a British request to help investigate possible al-Qaeda sympathisers.
