NATO Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan

Afghan fighters have attacked a patrol of Nato-led soldiers in southern Afghanistan, killing two of them and wounding another.

A statement from Nato said a fourth soldier was missing.

Insurgents, armed with rocket-propelled grenades, ambushed a vehicle of the Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in the north of Helmand province on Tuesday morning.

The statement said: "Two ISAF soldiers were killed in the attack, one wounded and one remains unaccounted for."

The nationalities of the soldiers were not given.

The UK has nearly 4,000 soldiers deployed in Helmand.

The attack came a day after Nato took command of the south from the US-led coalition, with a mission to stabilise the region.
