The two men were shot on the street by unknown attackers on Thursday and subsequently died from their wounds.
"Both men were working for the intelligence bureau," Niaz Ahmed Siddiqi, the city's police chief, said.
The officials, identified as Fazal-ur-Rehman and Mohammad Ibrahim, worked for the bureau's anti-terrorism wing.
The bureau focuses on the country's fight against al-Qaeda and homegrown armed groups tied to Osama bin Laden's network.

The Intelligence Bureau is one of three Pakistani intelligence agencies, but it is the only one that is controlled by the interior ministry.
The Military Intelligence and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) are tied to the armed forces.
