At least 33 people have been killed and another 19 injured after a bus fell into a river in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
K Rajendra, a senior local police official, said the cause of Wednesday's accident has not yet been determined.
However, he said the 32-seater vehicle en route to Jammu, the winter capital of the province, from Bhaberwah was overcrowded.
Rescue operations are continuing where the vehicle veered off a mountain road and plunged into the Chenab river near Pranoo, a village 170km northeast of Jammu.
According to experts of the National Transportation Planning and Research Centre (NTPRC), the number of road accidents in India is three times higher than that in developed countries.
