Scores dead in Libya plane crash

Up to 105 people have been killed in a plane crash in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, according to the news agency AFP.

The news agency quoted a security official as saying a Libyan aircraft arriving from South Africa crashed on Wednesday at Tripoli airport.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said 94 passengers and 11 crew members were killed in the accident.
There was no immediate indication of the cause of the crash, which occurred as the Afriqiyah Airways plane was landing after a flight from Johannesburg at around 6am (04:00 GMT).
Al Jazeera's Haru Mutasa, reporting from Johannesburg, said the plane was a "fairly new" Airbus.
"The airport in South Africa has not yet released details about the nationalities of the passengers," she said.
"People are still struggling to find out what actually happened."
