A large explosion has rocked the city of Kandahar in southern Afghanistan, destroying vehicles in a car park of a building used by Nato forces.
"It was a car bomb," Mohammed Shah Farouqi, a city police official, said on Wednesday.
"So far we are not aware of any casualties."
The blast comes after a recent series of Taliban attacks on government and foreign troop targets.
On Tuesday the Afghan interior ministry reported that nearly 300 Taliban fighters attacked Barg-e Matal district in the eastern Nuristan province.
Several fighters were reported to have been killed and four others wounded. Troops were sent from Kabul, the capital, to reinforce local authorities in this area.
