Five more people have been killed in occupied Kashmir, police said on Friday, while the army said it had foiled 13 attempts by Mujahideen to infiltrate in the region. A police spokesman said freedom fighters shot dead Ghulam Mohammed Yatoo, an official of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) late on Thursday at his house in the Shangus area of the southern Anantnag district. In other violence, freed freedom fighter Muzaffer Ahmed was shot dead by Mujahideen in the Narparistan area of Srinagar, police said. Ahmed was returning home from a mosque after evening prayers when masked gunmen attacked and shot him. The Indian army, meanwhile, on Friday shot dead two Mujahideen minutes after they crossed into northern Nowgam sector from across the Line of Control, a police spokesman said. Indian army spokesman Lieutenant Colonel R.K. Sen said on Friday the army had prevented 13 attempts by Mujahideen to infiltrate into the region.
