'My Dad's a Lion Even When Caged' Says Saddam's Daughter

Saddam Hussein's family wants the former leader to be tried by an international court instead of a special tribunal set up by the US-installed Iraqi Governing Council, one of his daughters said on Tuesday. Raghad Saddam Hussein said her father appeared sedated in footage released Sunday by the US-led occupation authority after his capture near his hometown of Tikrit. "Every honest person who knows Saddam know that he is firm and powerful. Saddam was tranquillised when captured," she said in an interview with the Dubai-based Al-Arabiya television station. "He would be a lion even when caged," she said. Raghad and her sister Rana are living in Amman, Jordan, where they were given asylum in July. She said the family would appoint an attorney to try to contact Saddam, whose whereabouts have not been released. US authorities say they are interrogating him at a secure location. **'Saddam Deserves Death' Says Bush*** Meanwhile, George W Bush said last night Saddam Hussein deserves the death penalty - the "ultimate penalty" - for his iron-fisted rule in Iraq and that Iraqis should conduct the trial. Bush made clear in an interview with ABC News Primetime that what happens to Saddam will be decided by the Iraqi people, following his capture by US troops on Saturday. "He is a torturer, a murderer, and they had rape rooms, and this is a disgusting tyrant who deserves justice, the ultimate justice. But that will be decided not by the president of the United States, but by the citizens of Iraq in one form or another," Bush said. **PHOTO CAPTION*** This image released by the US.
