Four U.S. soldiers have been found dead west of Baghdad, apparently killed in an attack by Iraqi resistance fighters, witnesses said on Monday.
Attackers took witnesses to the scene, a building site in the restive town of Ramadi. The bloodied bodies of the four soldiers were sprawled on the ground, surrounded by scattered equipment and belongings.
It was unclear when they had died. They were not wearing the helmets or body armor routinely worn by U.S. troops on alert.
The U.S. military had no immediate comment on the deaths.
**Iraqis Threaten to Kill Korean Captive***
Al Jazeera television aired a video last night of purported South Korean hostage in Iraq, begging for his life and pleading with his government to withdraw troops from Iraq.
The kidnappers have given South Korea 24 hours to meet its demand or "we will send you the head of this Korean", identified as Kim Soong Il.
"Please, get out of here," the man screamed in English. "I don't want to die, I don't want to die ... My life is important."
An Al Jazeera staff member at the network headquarters in Qatar, Mohammed Al Saadi, said by telephone that the two-minute-video tape was sent to Al Jazeera bureau in Baghdad by mail.
It gave Seoul 24 hours starting from last night to meet its demand.
