Occupation Forces end Nablus Raid as Palestinian PM Says Killing is Part of Israeli Policy
While thousands of Palestinians participated Sunday in the funeral procession of eight activists, including the West Bank commander of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, killed Saturday in Nablus, Israeli soldiers ended their aggressive operation in the city. The Al-Aqsa Brigades vowed an unprecedented "earthquake" of revenge in the wake of the weekend raid in Nablus, in which Israeli troops also killed the local commanders of Hamas, and the Islamic Jihad. On his part, Palestinian PM Ahmed Qurei said Sunday that the Israeli "atrocious crime" in Nablus is an evidence that the Israeli government continues killing and assassination plan against the Palestinian people. In a statement issued in Nablus, Qurei said that killing and assassination of Palestinians is a part of the Israeli strategy. Qurei, however, said "Israel must know that these crimes will not undermine our determination to regain our legitimate rights," adding "this crime is also a clear message to the Quartet Committee." He added that constructing the "Apartheid Wall, colonization and seizing Palestinian land are a part of the Israeli strategic policy which comes in the framework of the unilateral withdrawal plan from Gaza." The PM stressed that the Israeli crime in Nablus is a strong message to the Quartet, UN, and the international community, adding that Israel is either a state above the law or it has to be stopped. He affirmed that if Israel did not end its aggression the chaos will prevail in the region. **PHOTO CAPTION*** Israeli troops in Nablus. (AFP)
