Turkish Hostages Reported Killed in Iraq
Police have found the bodies of two Turkish hostages kidnapped in Iraq, according to the Arabic television station Al-Jazeera. The channel said the remains of the pair, who had apparently been shot dead, were discovered on the sides of a road near the town of Baiji, north of Baghdad. Several Turks have been seized in the country this month and a number of Turkish firms have already withdrawn from Iraq amid security concerns for their personnel. **PHOTO CAPTION*** Abdullah Ozdemir, right, and Ali Daskin, Turkish men who were reportedly kidnapped from a construction site in Iraq, are seen holding their passports in this image made from Turkish television late Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004.
