The Shaathiliyyah, Ahmadiyyah and Bahaism Fatwa No: 17649
- Fatwa Date:11-11-2007
There is one Center where I live and its followers are called the Shaathilis. They belong to the Sufis but claim to be Sunnis. They are interested in the Ahmadiyyah and in Bahaism I would like to know the organization to which such sects belong.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
The Shaathiliyyah, Ahmadiyyah and Bahaism are three deviant sects with one thing in common which is their deviation from the Quran and Sunnah.
The Shaathiliyyah and Ahmadiyyah are two Sufi sects notorious for their extreme beliefs concerning the dead. They are known for exaggeration in supplicating the dead, seeking their help, offering sacrifices to them and making vows in their names, in addition to other detestable practices that are, in fact, nothing but major Shirk.
The Shaathilis are the followers of Abu Al-Hasan Ash-Shaathili from Alexandria. He was succeeded by Al-Mursi Abu Al-‘Abbaas, who is famous in Alexandria in Egypt and both of them were succeeded by Ibn ‘Ataa’ As-Sakandari. As for the Ahmadis, they are named after Ahmad Ar-Rifaa’i.
Finally, the Bahaa’is are the followers of Al-Bahaa’ Husayn ‘Ali, whose followers believed to be their Lord. They believe in pantheism, transmigration and in the crucifixion of Jesus, just like Jews and Christians, in addition to other corrupt beliefs.
You must be aware by now that the so-called Shaathiliyyah are only lying when they claim to be from Ahlus-Sunnah, for they are far from the path of the Sunnah.
Allaah Knows best.
