Question

Assallam O Allaykum. CAN MUSLIM GIRL MARRY WITH MAN WHO'S MOTHER WAS CHRISTEN & FATHER WAS HINDU.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

If that man is a Muslim who is compliant with his religion and pleasant in his manners, then there is nothing wrong with the Muslim girl accepting him as a husband. His mother being a Christian or his father being a Hindu does not legally restrict him from being married. At-Tirmithi related via Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “If someone with whose religion and manners you are pleased proposes (to a woman under your guardianship), then marry (her off to) him.”

Allaah Knows best.
