Taking Up Exam about Man-Made Laws Is Not Referring To Taghut
Fatwa No: 456580

Question

Assalamu ‘alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh There is an exam where doctors are graded against certain man-made laws which I think may contradict the shari'ah, for example the law of autonomy. Is this a form of tahakum to taghut?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

Taking up the exam does not require approving these laws or being pleased with them, and it is not considered as referring to the judgement and ruling of the Taghut – assuming that they are laws that contradict the Sharee’ah in the first place.

We advise you to avoid these whispers, ignore them, stay away from them, and seek treatment for them.

Allah knows best.
