Supplications that lead to Paradise Fatwa No: 89000
- Fatwa Date:7-12-2004
I have heard that there is a Du'a which if said in the morning will lead us to a sure place in Jannah if anything happens to us during the day. What are its wordings?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
Indeed many authentic narrations had been reported about the supplications of the Prophet that if someone says them in the morning or evening and then dies on that day, then he will be automatically admitted to paradise. The Prophet said: "The most superior way of seeking forgiveness from Allaah is to say: "Oh Allaah! You are my Lord, None has the right to be worshipped except You, You created me and I am Your Servant and I abide by Your Covenant and Promise as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil of which I have committed and I acknowledge Your Favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me for verily None can forgive sin except You." The Prophet said: "If someone says it in the evening and then dies he will enter paradise or he will be among the people of paradise, and if he says it in the morning and then dies that day, the same applies to him." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
The Prophet also said: "Whoever says I am pleased with Allaah as my Lord, and Islam as my religion and Mohammad as a Prophet then paradise is obligatory for him (he will undoubtedly be admitted to paradise)." [Abu Daawood]
In another narration, the Prophet said: "If someone says so (the above supplication) three times in the morning and three times in the evening then it is his right on Allaah to please him on the Day of Judgement." We advise the questioner to refer to the booklet 'The Fortification of a Muslim' (Hisnul Muslim) authored by Sa'eed Ibn Wahf Al-Qahtaani, may Allaah preserve him, and it is translated into English and Hindi and sold in the market. Indeed it is one of the best books about the supplications in all circumstances and on different occasions. It is very beneficial and the questioner and any reader will find what he is looking for regarding the supplications from the Qur'aan and the Sunnah.
Allaah knows best.
