Is sperm pure or impure, and what do you think about someone who says that a person is created from an impurity?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

The difference of opinion among scholars about the purity or impurity of sperm does not apply to the person himself on the grounds that his origin is sperm. However, few scholars are of the view that sperm is impure, as it was completely transformed from its original state, and this kind of transformation renders the item pure; this is according to the consensus of the scholars.
