Some Islamic schools fall far short of parents' expectations Fatwa No: 92431
- Fatwa Date:14-9-2006
Many Muslim colleges are there for intermediate, they say we will make your children perfect in studies as well as religion, but they are not doing so. In the rules of college it is written that they don't allow girls to wear jeans or shorts but after admission they don't respose for it. Are they wrong or right? From my view, they are absolutely wrong.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
It is an obligation to fulfil the promise and other permissible contracts. Allaah Says (what means): {And fulfil [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned.}[Quran 17:34]. Allaah further Says (what means): {O you who have believed, fulfil [all] contracts} [Quran 5:1]. This is even more confirmed in regard to the people who are nurturing young children, as these are a trust in their hands, and they should guide them properly.
Therefore, the people who are running that school are obliged to fulfil the conditions that are stated in the regulation of the school, and if they do not do so, then they are wrong.
Finally, it should be noted that if a Muslim wants to enrol his children in a school (educational institution), then he should put them in safe hands that will educate them and nurture them according to the belief and moral principles of Islam.
Allaah Knows best.
