If Wady is continuous, it is legally the same as incontinence

Question

URGENT I have a problem with wadiy. Everytime when I urinate I have to wait so long for the wadiy to stop. How long should one wait for the wadiy to stop flowing? Also, is it permissible to ask Allah to stop the flow of wadiy after urinating? What I mean by that is, is it allowed to make dua to Allah to let there be no release of wadiy in me after urinating?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

Wady is a thick white secretion that is discharged predominantly after urinating and sometimes before it. It is not associated with sexual desire and entails nothing more than what urinating entails in terms of purification.

As for the period after which the discharge of Wady stops, the basic principle is that it stops shortly after urinating. If the discharge continues any longer after that, the person must wait until the discharge ceases and then perform ablution and prayer unless it is feared that the prayer time would end (before the discharge ceases). In this case, the same ruling of incontinence applies; the person should perform Istinjaa’ (cleansing of the outlets), take precaution to prevent the discharge from spreading on his body or clothes and perform ablution and prayer regardless of the continuous discharge.

There is nothing wrong with asking Allaah to bless you with recovery from that incontinence. But your previous questions indicate that you may be suffering from obsessive whispers concerning this issue, as all the previous questions revolve around Mathy and Wady. If the dear questioner is actually suffering from such obsessive whispers, we advise him not to indulge in thinking about them any further; there is no good in doing so. He should know that the devil is luring him in to perceive acts of worship as a burden and eventually abandon them.

Allaah Knows best.
