Suffering from Urine Incontinence and Prayer

Question

If a person with urine incontinence make wudu right after sunset will it be valid until zuhr?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is incumbent on the person who suffers from incontinence to perform ablution for each prayer after its time begins. Ibn Qudamah may Allaah have mercy upon him said in Al-Mughni:

In brief, he who suffers from urinary incontinence, or incontinence of Mathiy, or an injured person with severe bleeding, and those in similar situations where the Hadath (state of ritual impurity) is continuous and they cannot retain their state of ritual purity, are required to perform ablution for each prayer after washing the place where the impurity exits and wear a pad or bandage to stop the discharge of the ritual impurity.” [End of quote]

He also said about the ritual purity of the person who suffers from incontinence: “The ablution of the person suffering from incontinence is invalidated by the end of the prayer's time as underlined above.” [End of quote]

However, some scholars held that the person who suffers from incontinence is not required to perform ablution for every prayer and his ablution is not invalidated because of the incontinence if no other nullifier of the ritual purity occurs.

Accordingly, if a person who suffers from incontinence performs ablution after sunset, he may pray the Maghrib prayer, and it is also permissible for him to perform the following obligatory prayers with this ablution unless another nullifier of his ablution occurs.
