Question

Assal?m 'alaykum warahmatullahi wabarak?tuh.
I'd like to know the isl?mic rulings regarding the following.
(1). I want to grow Vanilla and sell it commercially to Vanilla brokers (exporters) in my country who eventually sell it internationally in USA,Europe and other countries besides me the seller! all the remaining are non-muslims (buyers). when i did some research on the uses of Vanilla it's used as a flavour in food, sweets, baking, ice cream, perfumes and Vanilla extract mixed alcohol and in medicine i know that the non-muslims use alcohol in some of their products will this have a negative impact on my earning even though what i sell is purely halal if they mix it with haraam things since I'm the one who grew it and sold it ?
(2).IF i plant pine trees for agroforestry purpose then later on sell them to non-muslims after a period of 10yrs of maturity basically they can be used for ttimber, furniture, building houses what if they use them to build something haraam like a churh or Coffins ?
Jaz?kumullah.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad, is His slave and Messenger.

There is nothing wrong in growing vanilla and then selling it to non-Muslims. Similarly, there is nothing wrong in selling pine trees to non-Muslims. What you mentioned doesn't prevent a Muslim from planting such plants and trading in them. The possibility that such means may lead to Haraam doesn't make them forbidden.

Allah Knows best.
