Do the pubic hairs begin right below the navel? As in, when shaving the pubic hairs, do we have to start from right below the navel?

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

What is meant by pubic hair was explained by the scholars; An-Nawawi said when explaining Saheeh Muslim:

“Pubic hair is the hair above the penis and what is around it, as well as the hair around the vagina of a woman. Besides, Abu Al-‘Abbaas ibn Surayj was quoted to have said that pubic hair is the hair that grows around the anus. Based on the above, we conclude that it is recommended to shave all the hair at the penis and anus and what is around them.” [End of quote]

Accordingly, pubic hair does not start right under the navel.
