I want to know the ruling on my name ‘Shadia’, as everyone is advising me to change it.

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

It is permissible in principle to be named with any name the meaning of which does not include a religious prohibition. It does not appear that the name Shadia includes any of the religious prohibitions.
