Naming a new-born child with the names of the Chapters of the Quran or the alphabetical letters found at the beginning of some Chapters of the Quran (such as Taaha and Yaaseen) is disliked according to the view of some scholars . Ibn Al-Qayyim said: “It is forbidden to name (a new-born child) with the names of the Quran and its Chapters, like Taaha, Yaaseen, Haameem…” Moreover, Shaykh Bakr Ibn ‘Abdullaah Abu Zayd said: “A group of scholars disliked naming a child with the names of Chapters of the Quran, such as Taaha, Yaaseen, Haameem…” For more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 82724 and 87262.
