All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
If your husband committed adultery as you mentioned in the question, then he has indeed committed a great major sin. Therefore, he is obliged to repent to Allaah, and Allaah accepts those who repent to him. Allaah Says (what means): {And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons misdeeds and He knows what you do.}[Quran 42:25]. Allaah may even change his bad deeds into good deeds; Allaah Says (what means): {…and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated, Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allaah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allaah Forgiving and Merciful.}[Quran 25:68-70]. Therefore, Allaah is Most Merciful and Most Generous.
Since Allaah is Merciful and Forgiving, then there is no need to say that you cannot forgive your husband. Therefore, if your husband has sincerely repented and does good deeds, then you should not open the doors of the devil who will spoil your marital life especially that you are blessed with these two daughters, and we pray that Allaah will make them a comfort to your eyes. Any dispute that may happen between you and your husband affects the children in a negative way in their life. Furthermore, it should be noted that this sin which your husband committed, could have been committed from someone who is more religious and pious than your husband. What is most important is that he should repent sincerely and avoid all means which may lead him to commit the same thing again. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 87160.
Finally, it should be noted that whoever has committed a sin should conceal himself and not inform anyone about it.
Allaah Knows best.
