as Salam alaikum my question is my wife is schizophrenia patient she don't understand about zakat at all. What is the ruling on her is it my responsibility to pay zakat or my wife responsibility.

Mixed ownership of wealth does not affect Zakat
We are three partners and own a capital that has reached the due Nisaab and on which a Hawl (i.e. lunar year) has passed. However, if we divide the capital among us, the shares of each of us will not reach the due Nisaab. A man accumulated salaries that reached 4,500 Dirhams. The Nisaab of Zakaah last year was 3,800 and he paid Zakaah according to this Nisaab. My wife is a guardian of her minor children from her late husband and theirs is money held by the probate court and cannot be disposed of until they are twenty-one years of age.
