The two men mentioned in chapter Al-Kahf verse 37

Question

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. Asslamu Alikum.I know that the Holy Quran has no contradictions and it is a book of Allah's Guidance and His Blessing. But I was wondering how did the believing man in Surah Al-Kahf verse 37 know that human beings were born from dust then out of sperm-drops. I just want a brief explanation. Thank you. Jazzakum Allahu Khairan

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

A group of the interpreters of the Quran said that one of the two men who were mentioned here as an example; was a believer while the other was a disbeliever. Therefore, it is possible that the believer through his knowledge of religion knew that a human being is created from dust considering that Aadam may Allaah exalt his mention was created from dust and then his descendants were created out of semen. It is known that the soil is the basic substance of the human being from which the Father of all human beings was created and sperm is the closely related substance from which all Aadam’s children are created.

Allaah Knows best.
