Fatwa CenterShe has clear evidence that her husband commits adultery
Question
Salamu alajkum what should a wife do if she knows that her husband is doing zina but he denies that strongly although the wife has clear facts? they are already 40 years in marriage. since she knows about his zina, she does not take care of him like she did earlier. Is this sin for her? Thank you for your answer
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
We have already issued Fatwa 89109 clarifying that it is not permissible for a woman to be suspicious of her husband and accuse him of having committed adultery without evidence. We have also issued Fatwa 120659 clarifying what a wife should do if she has evidence that her husband commits adultery.
It should be noted that a wife is not permitted to be negligent about the rights of her husband on her as long as she is still his wife, and if she is negligent she is sinful. This is if what is meant by not caring for him is being negligent about his rights, but if what is meant is in matters other than his rights on her, then she is not negligent in this regard.
