Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

If a woman goes out for work, and observes all Sharee'ah-required criteria, there is no blame on her in this issue. The woman’s earnings from her permissible work are lawful for her and become owned by her, and she has the right to dispose of them within the limits of what is permissible for her under Sharee'ah, and there is no difference between her and the man in this respect. For further information about the religious requirements for woman’s work, refer to Fataawa 82399 and 83607.

Concerning the Fatwa you mentioned which renders unlawful the woman’s earnings, we know nothing about it. This prohibition may be restricted to the case in which the work itself is unlawful or leads to the unlawful. But to give a general judgment that woman’s work is absolutely unlawful, is not correct logically and religiously.

Allaah Knows best.
