In India there is tradition to gift cloths by bride parent to there close relative, Is it OK or we should not do this as most of these people are well to do peoples.
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
There is nothing wrong with this matter; rather, it is among the good traditions which lead to affection and love between the Muslims.
In principle, all the traditions are permissible unless there is evidence that they are forbidden; for more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 99480.
The fact that those relatives are well-off is not a religious impediment to giving gifts to them.
