Question
Are there authentic Hadeeths indicating that Arabia is safeguarded from earthquakes and volcanoes?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
We do not know of any Hadeeth indicating that Arabia is neither afflicted by earthquakes nor volcanoes. There are, in fact, Hadeeths that indicate the opposite, such as the emergence of a fire from Arabia: It was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah 
that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said that the Hour would not come until a fire emerges from the land of Hijaaz. The light of this fire would reach Busra. [Al-Bukhari, Muslim and others] The Shaafi‘i scholar, An-Nawawi 
reported the consensus of the inhabitants of Ash-Shaam (Greater Syria) that they had seen this fire.
Also, there is another Hadeeth indicating that there will be a landslide in Arabia. It was reported on the authority of Huthayfah ibn Aseed that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said that the Hour would not come until people see ten signs; among them are three landslides, one in the East, one in the West and one in Arabian Peninsula.
