Question
Is there a narration of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, where he informs us that a person will appear before the Mahdi and will rule people with firmness? Was it mentioned that this man will be from the tribe of Qahtaan?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, mentioned that a man, who is traced back to the Arabic tribe of Qahtaan, will emerge and people will obey him and gather around him. That will happen when the end of the world is approaching. In a narration on the authority of Abu Hurayrah 
the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, mentioned that the Hour will not come until a man emerges from Qahtaan and he will rule people with firmness. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
