Assalaamu alaykum dear Scholars. My question is in regards to the following narrations; are these narrations authentic or weak? Your assistance in the matter will be highly appreciated. May Allaah reward you. The narrations are as follows:
Abdullah Ibn Abbas, may Allaah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, said, “Showing hatred towards Bani Hashim and the Ansaar is kufr (disbelief), and showing hatred ... towards Arabs is nifaq (hypocrisy). Hatred of Bani hashim and the Ansaar is kufr, and hatred of the Arabs is nifaq.” (Tabarani Muj'am Al-Kabeer No. 11,149, Al haythami in Majma' Az-Zawaid vol. 10, page 30)
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
This hadeeth was classified as weak by Shaykh Al-Albaani in Silsilatul-Ahaadeeth Adh-Dha’eefah, as he said, “It is very weak.”
It was narrated by At-Tabaraani (3/117/2) from Abu Hafs ‘Umar ibn Hafs ibn Yazeed Al-Qurathi, from ‘Amr ibn Shimr, from Jaabir ibn Yazeed, from 'Ataa' ibn Abi Rabaah, from ‘Abdullaah ibn ‘Abbaas, attributing it to the Prophet .
Al-Albaani said, “This is a very weak chain of narrators.”
Allaah knows best.
